The MT-400X software runs on a standard PC under the
Linux operating system, where the user interface runs in the X Window
graphical environment.
The driver of the interface card runs in a loadable module that plugs into
a standard Linux kernel. |

| Hardware |
| A multi-purpose T1/E1 interface adapter, Thor-2-PCI,
is employed by MT400X. It is a member of the Odin Telecom frameworX
(OTX) product family. The card supports two T1 or E1 interfaces at
the speeds of 1.544 Mbps and 2.048 Mbps respectively. Throughout
the document the T1/E1 interfaces are referred to as Line Interfaces.
The same board supports both T1 and E1. The operation mode, as well
as the line terminating impedance of 75 ohms or 100 ohms, are software
switchable. The card also supports a high-impedance mode for monitoring.
Consequently, the card can be used to terminate two T1/E1 links or
to monitor two links. |
